Soundproof booths and acoustic office cabins: differences and which one do you need?

Many people are looking for soundproof booths when in reality they may need very different products. A booth designed for singing, playing an instrument or recording professional voiceovers is not the same as a booth designed for making calls, meetings or videoconferences in an office.

Although the two may appear similar from the outside, their main function is not always the same. A professional soundproof booth is designed to significantly reduce sound transmission. A office acoustic enclosure, Instead, it is usually aimed at improving privacy, reducing some of the noise and creating a more comfortable space for talking or concentrating.

At DEMVOX we work with both solutions, so it is important to choose the right cabin according to the actual use. In addition, in the case of office, we have a differential proposal: KZ Office, a professional soundproof booth adapted to the working environment.

Not all acoustic enclosures are designed for soundproofing.

The term “acoustic booth” is often used in a general way, but can refer to very different products. Some booths are intended to enhance privacy in an office, while others are designed for more demanding sound activities such as music, speech, singing, instruments or recording.

Therefore, before choosing a cabin, it is worth asking yourself a simple question: Do you want to talk with more privacy or do you need to really reduce the sound coming out?

This difference is important because many office cabins on the market function more as privacy modules or enclosed meeting spaces, whereas a professional soundproof booth is built to a more exacting soundproofing standard.

What is a professional soundproof booth?

A professional soundproof booth is designed to reduce sound transmission between indoors and outdoors. That is to say, its main objective is that a sound activity can be carried out with much less disturbance to the environment.

This type of booth is usually used for voice-over, dubbing, professional podcasting, singing, musical instruments, production, recording, studio or rehearsal. In these cases, the sound generated inside the booth can be much louder than a simple office conversation.

Within DEMVOX, the ranges ECO, DV y KZ Studio are oriented to this type of needs, with different levels of insulation, size and configuration depending on the use.

What is an office soundproof booth?

A office acoustic enclosure is designed to create a more private and comfortable space within a work environment. It is typically used for calls, videoconferences, short meetings, concentration or conversations that require a certain degree of privacy.

This type of booth can help reduce the bustle of an open office and improve verbal privacy, but should not always be confused with a professional soundproof booth for music, singing, drums or instruments. In many office solutions, the main objective is not to achieve professional sound insulation, but to provide privacy and comfort in everyday life.

KZ Office: A professional soundproof booth designed for office use

At DEMVOX we have taken the concept of the professional booth to the office environment. Our line KZ Office does not start from a simple privacy booth, but from a soundproof booth system adapted for calls, meetings, videoconferences, concentration and acoustic privacy in corporate spaces.

This means that KZ Office maintains a more rigorous technical standard for sound insulation, while incorporating elements necessary for office use, such as large windows, shelves, electrical outlets, seating, lighting, ventilation, and layouts designed for daily work.

The result is an office sound booth with sound insulation performance superior to many common solutions on the market. KZ Office offers sound insulation of approximately 38 dB average, reaching up to 48 dB at 3150 Hz frequency, This places it at a high level in the segment of professional office cabins.

That's why, when we talk about KZ Office, we're not just talking about a phone booth. We're talking about a soundproof booth for officeA professional solution designed for companies that need real privacy, significant reduction of sound transmission and a comfortable space to work, meet or communicate with greater peace of mind.

The difference is in the approach: many office cabins are primarily looking for visual privacy and some noise reduction; KZ Office aims to provide acoustic privacy with a level of sound insulation typical of a professional sound booth, tailored for corporate use.
